Yes, this job makes it quite easy to work as little or as much as you would like. There will be requirements for each client that you work for with a set amount of hours they want a week ranging from 10/20 hours a week. Some clients will not let you work over 40 hours a week but for others, you may work up to 90 hours that week! Which is pretty awesome, makes it easy to manage things around the house, take a vacation or just simply live your everyday life.
Yes, there are, within time of course. I personally have seen a woman who started working as a call service representative and within 6 months she was working as a trainer for one of the classes. Within 8 months of taking roadside assistance calls, I was promoted to a supervisor's role. I now help direct agents struggling with their calls get through. You can be your own boss and run your own company (IBO-Independent Business Owner), in which I am doing where you can have friends/family/or just someone that would like to work from home work under you. In all honesty, you are the limit in this business and I encourage you to strive!
There is nothing set in place for Healthcare/Insurance but, that is definitely a goal as we are a relatively new business. Although, there are benefits such as incentives for certain jobs where they will pay you extra an hour because it is so busy or they need extra agents to take calls. There are big amounts called certification bonuses that are issued at times such as $250-$500 once you pass the training class.
Yes, you do! A 1099 form is what you will receive at the end of the year prior to the tax deadline and report that back to the IRS.
A 1099-MISC, for instance, is typically used to report payments made to independent contractors (who cover their own employment taxes).
A Form W-2 is given to an employee to report their income and payroll taxes withheld (whose employer withholds payroll taxes from their earnings).
